Day After Day

Day After Day
Week After Week
Month After Month...

Week 31

The joys of bed rest...
I'm lucky I'm not on strict bed rest....
Its more like house arrest.
Criminals are put on house arrest for certain charges
And let me tell you..its no fun.
I'm not a criminal
I'm just a mother hen incubating her chicks until they decide to hatch...
Ahh the joys of bed rest!

I call it house arrest, because I can leave the house,
but only for a certain percentage of the day...
and when someone comes with me.
I'm suppose to have my feet elevated,
and pressure off my pelvic...

That's probably why everything is going so well...
because of house arrest!

Many people have asked me how its going..
Well to be frankly honest
It is boring.
I think I have watched more TV in the past couple months
then I have ever in my life.
There are not that many good shows on TV anymore...
I have already read four books about multiple pregnancy,
and the past week, I have re-read all four books again.
I take 3-4 naps a day...

It sounds relaxing, fun and peaceful.
It is the first week or so,
but since May 7th,
Not so much!

I thought it would be a walk in the park.
A time to relax.
A time to cherish the silence,
BUT
its not...

On June 22, (26.4 weeks) the doctors told me that we were doing great.
She said they think the babies will stay put until week 36.
That's a whole 10 weeks.
To be honest,
I broke down.
I thought I couldn't do it.
I couldn't handle another 10 more weeks of house arrest.
I couldn't handle
another 10 more weeks of this big 'ole belly...
Emotionally, I was not there yet...

I had to create a plan in my mind

I'm kinda a planner on certain tasks, but I'm also a go-getter so
being on house arrest for 10 more weeks was not appealing to me!

I decided to take one of John's UPS calendars and mark it up...

Thank goodness he gets free calendars and if you ever want one, you know where to get one :)

I took a sharpie (my favorite pens) and wrote week by week where I would be...
Then over the past month, I have added Dr visits and birthdays for that month.
I decided the I would cross off the day at night that was completed.
Just to get me through the next 10 weeks.

Today I hit 31 weeks.
31 weeks with triplets...who would have thought?
Not me...
I guess this calendar idea really helped, even though
I'm looking at the next month and thinking...
Can I do it?
That's a lot of squares to mark off...
I just have to keep in mind...

I need to take it Day by Day...
after all, the past 6 weeks are marked off,
which means I survived!
I made it...now lets get through the rest of July and into August!

Week 35 is the new estimated date...only 4 more weeks left!
4 weeks...and we will have these little fellows here.

I do appreciate my friends coming an visiting me.
Thank you friends!
Thank you for making those days go by faster...
because that means...
the faster it goes, the quicker I can cross it off
which means...
1 step closure to meeting our boys!
