Too Identical

We always knew they were identical...
never really thought that we couldn't tell them apart.
People always say..
as a parent you will be able to tell them apart,
but in the beginning, we couldn't.

The day Aiden came home,
we put all three boys by each other and realized we would soon be in trouble.
We knew they looked a lot alike in the NICU, but they had their own area
so there was no chance of mixing them up.

We knew we needed to do something that night...
plus I wanted to cut off Aiden's hospital band.

During our time in the NICU, nurses were asking us how when we get home will be tell them apart.
They also gave us different ideas...
Not one idea was like that of the Chinese quads...
so don't get any ideas ...that will not happen to the Beck Boys!

Some nurses suggested:
bands
sharpie mark on their foot
painting nails
lanyard around wrist
dot on upper left arm
earrings
dress each boy in their own color and only that color
tattoos

Of all the suggestions...
We decided that night on painting their nails
because that was available to us.
I didn't want to pierce their earrings...they are boys...
Dressing them in only 1 color would be boring...
didn't go out and buy lanyards yet...
So here are some fun pictures from that evening with my grandparents and Gary.
Aiden has black sparkly toes..
Austin has blue toes...
mommy...do you really need to paint my nails?

Logan has orange toes...
