Since we started nippling in the NICU,
I've always been scared of them choking.
They used to stop breathing and their lips would turn blue when learning how to drink from a bottle.
That is why I decide to nurse. I thought it would be easier.
And it was!
For some reason the boys never had any issues with suck, swallow breath reflux while nursing.
Our time with exclusively bottle feeding is coming to an end.
In about a week, the boys will be 6 months!
(Where did the time go?)
Usually babies begin rice cereal...
after many discussions with multiple moms
I decided to ask our pediatrician if we can skip this.
Many moms have claimed it caused their babies to be constipated
and with our history
(long story short-72 hrs constipation on all three boys = NO FUN!)
Our pediatrician said it would be okay since they are getting added rice in Enfamil AR.
Over the past month, with time approaching to their 6 month birthday,
my anxiety has gone up.
I've finally have a schedule that works.
I'm back at work doing my regular routine.
Grandma's have the boys routine down solid.
Now its time to add something new to our routine.
It makes my head and tummy turn...
But I do know that on top of everything else I do,
I want to make my boys their own baby food.
Yeah..it will take time.
but they will be getting nutritious solids to start a healthy lifestyle.
So after seeking advice from my cousin and fellow moms of multiples
I decided that I need to
first- take a deep breath.
second- realize that once I figure out everything...it will be okay.
So...
This weekend will be dedicated to making our first batch of baby food.
I'm nervous because I don't exactly know what I'm doing...
I'm afraid if they choke...
so 911 will be on speed dial when we try at first
but just like everything else with these triplets...
It will just flow and come as we go.
After all- they have survived almost 6 months with John and I...
here's to many months and years!
