Time

Time...
Its never ending...
There's always never enough time in a day...

We all depend on time.
Alarm clocks run our lives.
Appointments run our lives.
Time runs our lives.

At my grade level team meeting the past week,
we talked about time.
We do so much at our school, but it always seems like there is always
something else to do...
We try to make sure we have done our best with our extended day.

Then I go home to the babies...
I again realize that my time with them is short.
I try to fit in a walk, some stories, songs and finger plays.
A bath on some days, a little cat nap, baby food
making bottles, changing into pajamas
and before we know it, its time for bed.

Some nights, I wish I could freeze time...
other nights, I'm hoping it goes by fast because of three crabby babies...

Every night when John and I put the babies down to sleep
I say a little prayer...
Then we say goodnight and I look at each one.
For a second, my clock stops.
I forget about life, jobs, and tasks.
I just focus on the three little men that have become the three most important things in my life.
My internal clock stops for them...just a spilt second.

I wish I could stop time..
These three are growing too fast, too quick.
Tonight, was a peaceful night at the Beck's.
All three were happy campers
after they woke up from a 2 hour nap.
(even after shots)
We played, laughed, sang songs, cuddled and read books.
On nights like tonight,
I have learned to take advantage of every time I have with them.

Our school's motto is "Every Second Counts"
Now my home motto is Every Second Counts,
...every second they cry, laugh, talk, squeal.
...every second we play, read, sing.
...every second we hug, kiss and tell each other we love them...
Every second matters because as we all know...
they grow up to fast!
