Its been basically a year since we have stayed overnight somewhere besides the hospital
and my uncles motor home while in the babies were in NICU.
This past weekend, we went up to my grandparents cabin in Long Barn.
Growing up, we went to the cabin frequently.
My parents bought one down the street from theirs
and we practically lived there on the weekends.
After my parents divorce,
they sold their cabin.
But we are lucky to be able to use my grandparents still.
I have many fond memories of our weekends up there.
Ice skating lessons
walks down to the park
a rope swing into the cabin lake
pinecrest
dodge ridge
SNOW!
sledding
...this list could literally gone on and on...
With the trio turning one soon,
and have gone no where...
we figured the cabin would be the safest place to stay overnight a couple of nights
and learn what we did wrong or right from this mini-vacation..
It was nice to get away and
spend some time with my grandparents and mom, but
with going out of town for three days
come the hard part of packing up myself plus the triplets.
They require so much stuff.
We had to pack their high chairs (luckily my mom took them in her vehicle)
pack-n-plays- 1 per baby...(luckily my cousin already had one up there from her baby)
food, bottles, formula, clothing- all season and multiple changes-
toys, books, wipes, and diapers.
I let John pack the car since he can figure out how to arrange everything to fit perfectly-
like a puzzle.
The boys loved looking at the squirrels and birds that ate from Popsi's feeder.
They loved going on the swings at the park.

They enjoyed our walks up and down the steep hills...
pushing a stroller downhill is a little tricky wearing flip flops...
They loved playing with their cousins toys...
new toys are fun!
But I think they loved eating new foods the best!
Popsi usually cooks breakfast and he didn't pass up this opportunity.
He made blueberry pancakes one morning and banana the next.
The boys went to town.
But soon realized that blueberries can be tart.
They loved banana pancakes, but whats new?
Bananas are a favorite in this house!

They even had some lasagna.
Boy did Logan love that!
They stayed with their normal routine and
putting them down at night to sleep was no different.
Overall..I think this a was success, but we learned
we will not go out of town besides the cabin until they are all out of pack-n-plays.
It takes up a lot of room.
We are looking forward to our first real vacation with the boys to a fancy hotel...
but that won't come for about a year...
I know the boys had a great weekend with their family.
I'm looking forward to the new memories we will make with these three up in the hills.
