A flashback through 2014

In 2014..
You laughed.
You cried.
You lost.
You gained.
You loved.
You smiled.
You forgave.
You hurt.
You had joy.
So...
Happy New Year's Eve.

Tonight I make my last thankful comment in my jar for 2014.

It's been an eventful year.
2014 brought new challenges, adventures and blessings
that I wouldn't have even imagined.

In January, Austin had his first seizure episode.
He was hospitalized for about a week.
That alone can push someone over the edge.
Watching their baby shaking and knowing there is nothing that can help them...
We had to trust his neurologist that he was doing the right treatment for Austin.

In February,
We brought Austin home.
He was a month seizure free
and life returned to our "new" normal.
We celebrated Valentines Day.

In March,
Austin has some developmental testing to see if the seizures affected anything.
He was up to par with his age group.
He didn't need any additional support.
But from there we would monitor his activity.

We also had a blast at Karen's annual St. Patty's party with family!

April brought Dad's 30th birthday,

along with Easter.
All spent with family.

In April, we starting thinking about moving back to Modesto.
We wanted to be closer to family and to be honest,
we were beginning to out-grow our 1400 sq ft house.
The search for the perfect home begin.
Our Turlock home sold very fast.
After putting in different offers on homes,
we found our perfect place.
The fourth home was the winner.
And still is!
We upgraded to 3000 sq ft.
Thanks Theresa!
We bought our forever home.

In May, the boys got to see their house!

Yes Stairs and to this date...still a favorite!

We moved at the end of May.

We were able to take some generation pictures...
thanks to our lovely photographer
Rubi!

June and July was busy months.
We started to work on upgrades to our house.
We loved the layout, but
knew it needed some love inside.
so...
We replaced doors and windows then...

Maybe this is where they developed a love for tools...from all the home improvements we have been doing...

the kitchen, laundry room and floors.

All I have to say is this sink has come in handy!
We replaced all the flooring with tile and hardwood.
We spent time with friends.
We even went swimming.
So it's a good thing our house has a pool!

We celebrated 4th of July at Brian and Charley's house

August brought the boys' 2nd birthday.

And some more home renovations towards the end of August and through September.
The school year started too.
We decided to fix up the stairs and make them up to code for these active toddlers.

September was a busy month with a birthday party each weekend.
Along with a trip to Discovery Kingdom with John's family.
We replaced all the hardware in the house and added extra lights along with chandeliers.

October was a fun month as well.
We went on vacation for about a week with some close family friends to their beach house
in Aptos.
Gilroy Gardens was in the mix along with Monterrey Bay Aquarium too.

We visited the pumpkin patch with their cousins.

And later carved them.

The trio out grew our triplet table and
now another triplet family is loving it!

We even tried potty training which was a success for about a month (with Aiden)
until we painted the whole inside of the  house.

Halloween came:
The boys were minions.

We lived in our neighbor for about five months and
barely saw any neighbors.
They were so excited to meet the triplets they kept hearing about from other neighbors.

November was a peaceful month.
We hosted Thanksgiving for our family.

November brought new carpet to the playroom and upstairs.
Disclaimer...busy active toddlers making a mess.

Then December came:
It was time to see Santa.

We all know how that went...

It was time to put up our tree.
The boys helped.

They went and got their own tree.

Christmas came:

This year was a busy fun year.
We are thankful Austin has been almost a year being seizure free.
In 2015...
We are ready to see what's going to happen to Austin
at our next neurology appointment in January/February.
We are ready for the shutters on our house and finishing up the front
and back yard in the spring of
2015.

If I could describe 2014 in one word it would be
Blessed.
I am beyond blessed by family, my friends and life.

How would you describe your 2014  in one word?

2015...ready or not?
Here is comes!
