Just Then You Realize....

Flash back to three years ago....

I was pregnant with the trio.
I just found out we were having identical triplet boys,
but we didn't see the gender of baby C (Logan).
There was a little bit of hope that he could possibly be a girl.
I wanted a girl so bad that I kept praying to god
that one of these babies
would be a girl.
I just wouldn't accept the fact that I would have
all boys until I saw it for myself from an ultrasound.
(even though deep down inside we already knew that we were going
to have all three boys since they were identical)

But, God had other plans for me.
Finally at the next appointment, we really saw
that baby C was for sure a boy...
My heart was crushed.
I was so sad.
I didn't know anything about boys.
How to do their hair...
how to dress them...
play with their toys...
Only John was going to be able to bond with them is all that I thought...

Present Day:
Lately, I have been watching the boys.
They are talking and interacting with each other and their friends.
They use full sentences.
I can understand them about 95% of the time now which is great!

I may have wanted a girl from the very beginning..actually since I was a young child myself.
But I have learned so much about boys.
I can say that I thank god for giving me the opportunity to raise these three little boys.
I truly don't know what I would do if Baby C was a girl.
It's really amazing to see these boys interact with each other.
They crack me up when they laugh at each other for falling or farting.
They care so much about one another.
They are their own best friends.
I couldn't imagine having a little girl thrown in there.
They play great with Haylee and all their other girlfriends,
but I'm truly thankful for three tough, funny, and happy boys.

I have learned many things about boys.
They like to fart.
They like to burp.
They still care about the color or design of their shirts.
They all have their own opinions and insecurities.
They love.
They hug.
They laugh...like a deep deep belly laugh.
I still don't know how to do their hair and the curls don't help either.
I have learned how to play cars and trains with them.
They still play make believe.
They love games and puzzles.
They like to help out with the cooking.
They have taught me so much!

Picnic anyone?

But as I watch them play at home with each other,
I'm thankful for three little boys.
The all are interested in the same toys, books and food.
They look out for each other.
It's probably because they are always together, but
I'm just going to say it is because of their triplet bond.

So as I think about the past three years...
maybe God had a plan for me to learn to appreciate boys and all they offer.

Boys are just as good as girls,
but they have their own view on life
and ..
it's amazing to watch.
