Choo Choo we are Two!

We have been extremely busy the past two months,
so busy that I haven't had any time to do a blog update.
To be honest,
I haven't wanted to for a couple of reasons.
We have been getting our house put together.
After the babies go to bed,
I've been wanting to just relax..
(if I'm not doing some form of schoolwork
or housework which has been most nights lately...)
I believe part of me doesn't want to acknowledge their birthday party post-
because that reminds me that my babies are two!

The boys are really into cars, trains, planes...
to be honest- anything that moves.
(spiders, bugs,  boats etc...)

Earlier this summer, we moved into our new home.
I didn't want to throw the boys a party because of the big move
and our house was no where close to being put together for guest.
We didn't have couches, bed sets, pictures..
nothing was together in this house because we have been remodeling everything.
So why throw a party was my theory..
they won't remember that they never had a 2nd birthday party...
but John convinced me otherwise...
and then it got me thinking...
that even thou they won't remember their party;
We will. Friends will. Family will.
After all, we are celebrating the boys turning two and
us surviving another year raising triplets.
So we decided on a smaller family and close friends party
due to all the remodeling projects we have going on.

I originally wanted to do a vintage theme train party for the boys,
but it quickly turned into a Thomas theme once John and I started to plan it out.
He thought since the boys loved Thomas and all trains that we should just
focus on a Thomas party.
These took me about three nights to make.

Once that was decided...it was off to planning this party in a little over a month.
I didn't know where to start or end.
About two weeks before the party,
I kept texting Robyn that I wasn't ready to do anything
and things weren't going how I wanted them to...
but in the end it all turned out perfect.

These streamers too forever...but I loved the way it looked!

All I have to say is thank you to Denise Seymour who owns My Little Balloon Company.
If it wasn't for her and all the wonderful ideas with the balloons,
the boys party would be blah.
I can honestly say Denise-
you saved me big time this year!
I can't say thank you enough!!!!
The boys love their Grandma Denise!

Thank you to my grandparents-
Poppa (as the boys call him) and Granny
for watching them while John and I took care of last minute
 party stuff the morning of.

Granny and Popsi took them out on a morning stroll in the triplet mobile.

As I started to plan out activities for the kids at the party,
I thought about what the trio enjoy doing.
They love to paint, throw and eat.
I decided to make a train painting station.

Nothing is better then frosting, cookies and candies to decorate trains too!

Toss the coal in the hole game was a complete success!
At least- my boys enjoyed throwing the "coal" after all, they love to throw anything.

You can't have a party without cake...
This year and every year to come-
we will have a separate cake for each baby...
I decided this because they don't get to have their own birthday
so why not their own personal cake?

I feel so bad for Austin.
This kid always has something bad happening to him.
His poor cake got smashed somehow.
Maybe it was the weight of the train?
Maybe it was when I moved it into the fridge?
We will never know...all I do know if I felt so bad for him...
But he didn't mind...because he quickly realized it was chocolate.

Austin saying Choo Choo!

Aiden realizing his cake had a train on it.

So excited!

Little Logan inspecting the cake..

They wanted forks and as soon as they got them, they started going to town!

The boys friend Owen helping them eat some cake.

What's a party without a pinata too?
I never had one growing up,
but John always had a pinata.
He wanted to have one for the boys since they are so physical and active.
Karen found the perfect one. Thank you Karen!
It was perfect and the boys enjoyed learning how to hit them.
This past month,
we have been a many parties and they got even more practice with pinatas.

pure joy on Dani's face

This year...the presents were a greater success.
However, it was cutting into their nap time, so the boys did get a little cranky towards the end.
We ended up saving some presents for the actual birthday too!

and of course in this household...
we have to buy three of everything the exactly the same otherwise there are too many fights!

A toddler's way to ride...

After the boys got a much needed nap,
Haylee and Robyn came back over in the evening
and had another play date!
Toddlers + Balloons = fun filled night

I wish Logan would have joined these two...love this picture so much!

typical boys...wrestle, wrestle, wrestle

Peek a Boo!

Even though this party was a last minute ordeal..
it turned out great!
The boys had fun.
We had a blast.

The only family shot of the day...was late in the evening after we had been cleaning up everything...
Thank you Robyn!

Thanks to our family and friends who made it to our party this year.
We are now in October...actually today is October 4th so
Our boys are 26 months...

We have three, two year olds who are strong willed, playful, joyful and loving toddlers.
I hope we survive the next couple of months with these boys!
