Holidays

There is basically a holiday every month of the year. Each holiday represents something different.
  • Valentines day is a day to remember the one you care deeply about.
  • Easter represents the birth of Christ after he was crucified.
  • Fourth of July is a day to celebrate the day we got independence.
And of course my favorite holiday...Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving, not because my birthday is around that time, but because of all the food and fellowship we get to enjoy with each other's company especially family that lives further away.  It is a major holiday where families around the world get together and celebrate the fall and what they are thankful for.
But why do we limit the holidays to dictate "our love" for one another or only allow children to dress up at a certain time?

I know this past month, I have a lot to be thankful for...This blog is dedicated to being thankful, just like we are thankful at Thanksgiving.

I am thankful for a loving husband, who is just as excited to be a father of triplets.
I am thankful for a mother, stepfather and father who support my decisions and have guided me down the right path and show their excitement towards their first set of grandchildren.
I am thankful for my in-laws who are already wonderful grandparents to my adorable little niece.
I am thankful for popsi and granny (my grandparents) because they want the best for me and our little family. They have helped shape who I am to this day and without them, I would be lost.
I am thankful for my aunt, uncle and cousins who have helped me find the perfect doctor and hospital to deliver my babies. I also am able to call at all hours of the night to ask for support or advice when needed (especially since they are in the medical field)
I am thankful for my bestie, who I am able to talk to about my pains and she knows right where I am since we are the at the same point in our pregnancy....I love that cupcake!
I am thankful for my friends who are eager to meet the babies and offer advice and support when needed whether it is asking about a hospital or a certain doctor.
I am thankful for my co-workers (friends) who are supportive if I have to leave work early or I am not feeling too hot. They also check in with me on how the babies are growing. Totally supportive group at work :)
I am thankful for the books on multiples that Lisa has let me borrow...those are awesome, and the hours of advice she has helped with.
I am thankful for my kindergarten students. Who knew 5 and 6 year olds could be so supportive and caring?
I am thankful for you! You have taken the time to read my blog and understand my mixed emotions about carrying multiples.
I am thankful for everyday these babies stay in me! That's one more day, they are healthier and two less days the will be in the Nicu.

As you can see...I am thankful for a lot of things. Without the support of my family and friends, John and I wouldn't have known the right decisions and choices for us. Each and everyone of you have helped us one way or another to cheer us on and encourage us that we can do this...we will do this...so this is for you!
Thank you!

Lets not limit the holidays to tell us when to be thankful, show someone we care or have corn beef and cabbage....
