A Monster Extravaganza

A one year old doesn't remember their birthday.
All the time spend making decorations, food, dessert and setting up for the big party, does it really matter to them?
Many hours go into an organized party that you as a parent hope it turns out the right way.
A baby may not remember it, but
I will never forget our first birthday party.

Ever since we brought the little dudes home from the NICU,
we have called them monsters.
As the begin to self-eat and crawl around every where,
they have really earned their name.
They are truly little monsters- cute monsters-
crazy monsters- sweet monsters...
monsters times three!
So whats a better theme for their party?
A monster theme.

We also thought it would be perfect to include the colors we used to paint their nails in the beginning throughout the party. Aiden had green nail polish. Austin had blue nail polish. Logan had orange nail polish. It just so happened as I was searching for monster ideas- a lot of it seems to be in these colors...so it just worked out in our favor!

It was a blast planning, organizing and creating projects.
The morning of the party, my friend Lindsay helped me out a lot.
I truly wouldn't have it all set up without her.
So I may take the credit for making things,
but I give her all the credit for placing things in the right spot.
She was the behind the scene operational gal!

Thank you Linds!
It was a perfect day.
Cool, crisp morning followed by a sunny afternoon.
We couldn't have asked for better weather in August.

All the decorations...
It was fun creating monster decorations.
I must say pinterest is the best thing ever for Do It Yourself Crafts...
plus some of my own creations.
Balloons and ribbon by grandma Denise- My Little Balloon Company

Monsters greeted everyone who dared to enter...

Another favorite creation- monster utensil holders- thanks pinterest!

Togo sandwiches...can't go wrong!

Dani always loves to help feed "her triplets". Such a big and good helper!
Playing and swimming was a big part of this party throughout.

Bubble table was a hit!

Sweet Haylee...Love her!

Nia- Queen of cuteness and the water ;)

The best part is yet to come....CAKE TIME and desserts.
If these boys are anything like their mama- then they will LOVE sweets!

Quite proud of my free hand drawing of  the monster

My sister in law, Charley made the cupcakes...

And the boys cakes.

The cupcake menu that showed each boys personality. Such yummy cupcakes! Thanks Charley

These three went to town...Aiden ate about half.
He still wanted some, but we took it away so he wouldn't get sick.
Washing off the cake was our next step.
A sink bath would do!

Aiden lovin his new bath!

Fun party makes for a crabby boy after he can't have anymore food!

Presents:
They learn fast!

We love our monster hats
(well...mom and dad do!)

Our new Cho-Cho Wagon that we love!

A very happy Logee in his own space.
Thanks Tara and Miriam again

After a while, it was nap time for the three.
Logan had to much fun that he didn't want to miss anything
so logee boycotted his nap.

sleepy Aiden with his aunty

Sleepy Austin with grandma

Logee didn't like that he could hold onto the balloon...We all thought it was funny while he cried!

Thank you to everyone who made it out, helped out and celebrated the boys special day.
They had a blast playing, eating and soaking in all the attention.

Boys- I know you will not remember the day, but we all will for you!
Happy First Birthday.
